CLIMATE
Temperature
August and September are the warmest months and January and February are the coolest. Temperatures vary only a little over 10 degrees between the summer and winter seasons, falling between 75 and 85 in the summer and 70 to 80 degrees in winter. The mean annual temperature is 79 degrees. Though the island is green most of the year, springtime brings what one would think of as fall in a northern climate. Leaves turn yellow and fall from the trees and it truly takes on the feel of autumn.

Rain
Rainfall averages 40 to 80 inches a year, with rainy season from September through February. The western or Caribbean side of the island and the mountains receive most of the rainfall.

Hurricanes
Hurricane season is June through October.
